some bunny’s 5 - a bunny birthday party

I’d be lying if I said planning my daughter’s birthday party isn’t one of my favorite things to do. I truly love searching for products, color schemes, floral arrangements, creating decor and design ideas… and then watching it all come to life brings me so much happiness.

This year Lydia turned 5 and she had been telling me (probably since February) that she wanted to have a bunny party. I thought she’d change her mind, and didn’t actually stock up on all the cute bunny products that come out around Easter, but she didn’t. So, I spent the month of June searching for bunny products which is no easy feat.

I started a pinterest board to start brainstorming and collecting ideas. I had a few local vendors in mind that I wanted to use and then started to plan accordingly. Typically I start with tableware, once I know what plates I’m going to be using I start planning the rest of the decor around that color scheme. I wanted to use the pastel eco plates from Meri Meri, and layer them underneath some bunny plates from My Mind’s Eye. The tableware product I ended up using is all from The Balloon Loft except for the Bunny Plates, those I had the hardest time finding in stock anywhere, but luckily came across some at Little Crown Goods. I then matched up colors with the Oh Happy Day cups and napkins, some studio pep confetti, and Meri Meri gold wooden cutlery. The bud vases my mother in law and sister put together for me. I wanted those to look like wildflowers across the table, and then I found the cream table runner off amazon. The picnic tables, blankets and pillows are from Pretty Party Utah, which I think are the cutest addition to any party that includes kids. They are the perfect size for your kiddos and the tables are so pretty and easy to dress up.

How amazing is this bunny backdrop! One of our long time clients announced she was starting her own backdrop company, Invite Irene and offered custom backdrops. I knew I wanted some backdrops for balloons but was so lost on how to do a bunny backdrop. I messaged Irene to see if she had any ideas, and she sent me this picture of a cute bunny backdrop that was perfect and exactly what we needed! I started working on a mockup of the balloons + backdrop and then realized I wanted one more backdrop to complete the look. I also had her make the little rainbow arch, that just looks so beautiful with balloons pooling out of it. Together they turned out perfect, and I was so impressed with the quality. In Utah we always have wind, and the backdrops withstood the random gusts of wind we had perfectly, they didn’t move at all.

For balloons we used the following colors: lace, pastel matte pink, and rosewood inside cameo. I purchased some flowers to add into the garland and just reused some faux greenery that we rent out to our clients. I also ordered some macarons from Madison Baking Co. If you know me, you know I love macs, and I have to have them at EVERY party. One of my incredibly talented employees, Kylee, made Lydia’s birthday cake.
